Super Value Cherry Cavendish is a bite-free blend of tobaccos with a sweet, zesty top note of cherry. Though a pungent Cherry aroma is present, it is mild to smoke and its fantastic room note of this blend is sure to garner compliments.
Like the milder-bodied Capstan Yellow, Capstan Blue was originally created by W.D. & H.O. Wills of Bristol well over a century ago. It’s remained a favorite to countless pipe smokers across generations (J.R.R. Tolkien having been on of its most noted aficionados), a testament to the quality of this fine Virgina flake, here offered in ready-rubbed form.
A light, bright flake of famous refinement and antiquarian origins, here in ready rubbed form, Capstan Gold, like its medium bodied Blue sibling, was originally created by W.D. & H.O. Wills of Bristol during the latter half of the 19th century. Suffice to say, it’s no accident this smoking mixture has survived as a favorite to so many generations. Produced by Mac Baren since 2006.
The Brigham Rock Maple Distillator allows for smoke to travel through three inches of fresh wood. This clear channel of porous wood removes much of the acid and moisture that can ruin a good smoke. Distillator can be rinsed, dried and re-used many times.
This fine tobacco originally had no name. It was blended before the first World War especially for the Very Rev. Dr. John White, sometime minister of the Barony Kirk in Glasgow and Moderator of the General Assembly in Scotland in 1929. He introduced it to Stanley Baldwin, later Earl Baldwin, Prime Minister in 1923, 1924 and 1935. He liked it so much that regular supplies were sent down to him and it was he who suggested that it be called “Presbyterian Mixture”. As there continues to be controversy over the question of whether Presbyterian Mixture contains latakia, the following quote from page six of the blender’s 2008 catalogue should leave the matter settled: “Extraordinarily soft blend of finest US Virginia grades and a number of selected latakia leaf tips. Ideal mixture also for beginners with English tobaccos.” Originally blended for mass market by William P. Solomon, whose recipe it still follows.
