Medium-to-full English blend featuring generous portions of Latakia and Perique, along with a variety of Virginias and burleys. Â Not for the faint of heart! The private blend of our late friend Bill Rutledge, now on the shelf as a permanent part of our lineup. Bill was a fixture at The Country Squire for years and epitomized who we strive to be each day: sophisticated, patient, welcoming, and kind. He was always here to greet guests or to recommend tobaccos to new pipe smokers. He was sharp, quirky, and hilarious–and he was ours.
Bill’s Blend is a sweet aromatic featuring confectionary notes of vanilla and marshmallow. The room note is superb and will be a treat for your companions. Soft and creamy, this tobacco is easy to keep lit and gentle on the palate. A true smoker-friendly, aromatic gem.
Bill’s Blend has been a popular choice at The Squire for years as people would come in, smell Bill’s pipe and ask for “whatever tobacco that guy is smoking”. We invite you to honor him with us while enjoying this excellent custom blend.
An extremely mellow Burley / Cavendish mixture. Â Black & Tan is creamy-smooth and is sure to pair well with a thick beer or favorite morning coffee!
Velvety cavendish tobacco, blended with care. Â Great as a gentle smoke on its own, or as a blending tobacco. Â Black Arrow has been a house favorite for decades.
Air cured burleys an a variety of Virginias come together in this blackberry treat that features notes of whiskey, sugar, and spice. Â Blackberry Cobbler comes to mind for some… perhaps the kind that would win First Prize at the Neshoba County Fair.
Our signature blend. Â A precise mixture of the choicest Virginias paired with toasted Cavendish to create a semi-sweet blend that has a fantastic tobacco flavor. Â An excellent daily smoke!
Some of our favorite blending burleys pair with soft black Cavendish to create this nutty treat with an essence of vanilla.
A unique blend of various Virginias and delicious black Cavendish. A real crowd-pleaser.
Choctaw was originally Cherokee #1. Â In the mid-1990s, Cherokee #2 was rebranded “Cherokee” and Cherokee #1 was renamed “Choctaw”. Â There was a Cherokee #3, but a key blending ingredient for that tobacco was discontinued.
Cherokee and Choctaw are very similar, but smokers tend to think of Choctaw as stronger due to the different Virginia tobaccos and proportions.
A little History:
From here: “Smoking pipes and tobacco have been a significant and visible part of the Choctaw traditional lifeway for a very long time, but they have not received much-written attention. The Choctaw name for tobacco is “hakchuma” (Byington 1915:131). According to a Choctaw cultural authority with whom we consulted on this article, tobacco plants were traditionally planted and tended by Choctaw medicine people, both male and female. After the plants matured, their leaves were removed and stored as dried rolls, tied up with bark strips. In the 1700s, some Choctaw communities grew enough tobacco both to supply themselves and to export it to Euro-American traders (Romans 1775:84-85)
These early Choctaw tobacco horticulturalists made a lasting contribution to the American tobacco industry. One of the traditional tobacco varieties that they developed, today known as “Perique,” may be the most expensive grade of tobacco in the world. For our ancestors, and for some Choctaws today, tobacco-smoking, “hakchuma shuka,” is approached in a spiritual way. The rising puffs of smoke are seen to carry one’s words or prayers upwards to the Creator.  Several of our own employees have Choctaw heritage.”
Our original English blend. Â Full flavored, yet kind to the mouth and soft. Â Medium-to-slow burning.
Cornishman was the favorite tobacco of our founder, Jim Reeves. Â Developed early in The Squire’s history, it is quite popular.
Mr. Reeves named Cornishman such because of his fondness an old legend: apparently in medieval England, the king would send tax collectors to Cornwall (whose residents are termed Cornish) to collect tribute; but the tax collectors mysteriously disappeared.  Again and again the king would send them, but they never came back!  The king, frustrated, learned quickly that he had to send an army with his tax collectors when they visited Cornwall, because the Cornishmen did NOT like taxes!
COWBOY UP! Intriguing Virginias, smoky Dark Fired Kentucky, and a splash of mild Cavendish make this delicious tobacco a strong eye-opener! Smoky, earthy, and great for breakfast, this blend will put a pep in your step as you break camp, saddle up, and set forth about your day.
Much like Mississippi, Delta Honeydew is complex, mysterious, and offers a few surprises. This Virginia-forward tobacco has the subtlety of high grade yellow leaf, while combining it with a small kiss of fruit topping. Additionally featuring the allure of various small-batch condimental tobaccos, Delta Honeydew is a blend that you’ll find yourself reaching for often, but won’t always know why!
A truly exotic cocktail of tobacco; full-flavored, yet mild. Â We refer to this blend as a “hybrid” because it has characteristics of English and Aromatic pipe blends. Â Semi-sweet flavors are accented by a dash of Latakia to make each bowl its own adventure. Â One of our most complex blends. Â Extremely pleasing to your companions, Hunting Creek has an intoxicating room note.
A complex mixture of our favorite Virginias and rich, black Cavendish. Very pleasant room note.
Indian Outlaw is quite literally “Half Cherokee and Choctaw”, referring to two of our oldest blends. Â We hope you appreciate the 1990s country music reference.
A blend of ripe Virginia tobacco spiced with pure Louisiana Perique. The distinctive aroma of Perique combined with the natural sweetness of Virginia tobaccos provides a wonderful characteristic taste. The center of mellow, fermented Black Cavendish serves to smoothen the general impression and rounding the taste. It is all a handcrafted process from selecting the best tobacco, blending, rolling, cutting, and packing. The result is an unparalleled smoking experience.

Meet Parson’s Blend… developed for the parson himself! Â One of our dear customers, who happens to be an Anglican priest, asked for a blend that his wife would let him smoke indoors and that also would not lead to tongue bite. Â Parson’s Blend is our effort to deliver these characteristics in a mild, aromatic blend that leaves your mouth feeling soft and smooth and fills the room with a delicious, warm note.
Customers often say that Parson’s Blend’s smoke is “thick”; our experience is that it leaves you in the midst of a very pleasant cloud. Â Delicate and crowd-pleasing!

Mild Virginias and Cavendish with a heavy spiced rum casing. Â Syrupy and aromatic, yet kind to the mouth!
A balanced blend of Virginias and Cavendish, this smooth, sweet blend is ideal for those who prefer a gentle and fruity smoke. Â The black cherry is very apparent, but not overwhelming. Â Very soft.
The Wars of the Roses were 15th Century conflicts fought between the Yorks and the Lancasters for control of the throne of England. Â Though extinguished with the death of Richard III in 1485, the Yorkist tradition is proud and lives on both in its direct descendants and in the hearts and minds of English romantics. Â With White Rose, we honor the House of York.
This soft Burley and Cavendish mixture will be one of the most unique aromatics in your cellar. Â The pronounced honey topping at times resembles tea, or even rum. Â The sophisticated pipe smoker will immediate appreciate the essence of Lakeland tobacco characteristics, as rosewater is apparent on the exhale. Â A sweet, perfumed delight!
White Rose was proudly developed in 2017 to celebrate the 200th Episode of Country Squire Radio and was presented to and named for Beau York, our dear friend. Â All profits from the sale of White Rose go directly to making Country Squire Radio happen each week. Â As of June 2017, Country Squire Radio is the #1 rated pipe-smoking podcast in the world. Â The show is now at the core of an international pipe club which gives smokers across the globe a chance to celebrate the hobby together weekly.
