The private blend of our late friend Bill Rutledge, now on the shelf as a permanent part of our lineup. Bill was a fixture at The Country Squire for years and epitomized who we strive to be each day: sophisticated, patient, welcoming, and kind. He was always here to greet guests or to recommend tobaccos to new pipe smokers. He was sharp, quirky, and hilarious–and he was ours.
Bill’s Blend is a sweet aromatic featuring confectionary notes of vanilla and marshmallow. The room note is superb and will be a treat for your companions. Soft and creamy, this tobacco is easy to keep lit and gentle on the palate. A true smoker-friendly, aromatic gem.
Bill’s Blend has been a popular choice at The Squire for years as people would come in, smell Bill’s pipe and ask for “whatever tobacco that guy is smoking”. We invite you to honor him with us while enjoying this excellent custom blend.
An extremely mellow Burley / Cavendish mixture. Black & Tan is creamy-smooth and is sure to pair well with a thick beer or favorite morning coffee!
Velvety cavendish tobacco, blended with care. Great as a gentle smoke on its own, or as a blending tobacco. Black Arrow has been a house favorite for decades.
Air cured burleys an a variety of Virginias come together in this blackberry treat that features notes of whiskey, sugar, and spice. Blackberry Cobbler comes to mind for some… perhaps the kind that would win First Prize at the Neshoba County Fair.
Our signature blend. A precise mixture of the choicest Virginias paired with toasted Cavendish to create a semi-sweet blend that has a fantastic tobacco flavor. An excellent daily smoke!
Some of our favorite blending burleys pair with soft black Cavendish to create this nutty treat with an essence of vanilla.
A unique blend of various Virginias and delicious black Cavendish. A real crowd-pleaser.
Choctaw was originally Cherokee #1. In the mid-1990s, Cherokee #2 was rebranded “Cherokee” and Cherokee #1 was renamed “Choctaw”. There was a Cherokee #3, but a key blending ingredient for that tobacco was discontinued.
Cherokee and Choctaw are very similar, but smokers tend to think of Choctaw as stronger due to the different Virginia tobaccos and proportions.
Much like Mississippi, Delta Honeydew is complex, mysterious, and offers a few surprises. This Virginia-forward tobacco has the subtlety of high grade yellow leaf, while combining it with a small kiss of fruit topping. Additionally featuring the allure of various small-batch condimental tobaccos, Delta Honeydew is a blend that you’ll find yourself reaching for often, but won’t always know why!
A truly exotic cocktail of tobacco; full-flavored, yet mild. We refer to this blend as a “hybrid” because it has characteristics of English and Aromatic pipe blends. Semi-sweet flavors are accented by a dash of Latakia to make each bowl its own adventure. One of our most complex blends. Extremely pleasing to your companions, Hunting Creek has an intoxicating room note.
A complex mixture of our favorite Virginias and rich, black Cavendish. Very pleasant room note.
Indian Outlaw is quite literally “Half Cherokee and Choctaw”, referring to two of our oldest blends. We hope you appreciate the 1990s country music reference.

Ambling along an overgrown trail in Washington State, you stop for a breath. You close your eyes to smell the forest: moist earth, fir trees, and peat become apparent to your senses. You are now aware that you are thoroughly enjoying your Northwest Trek.
An incredibly complex mixture of choice tobaccos, Northwest Trek is for the smoker who enjoys rich, smoky flavor paired with delicate sweetness. This Virginia, Burley, Latakia blend will make you a believer in savory tobaccos, and is perfect for Fall weather. Pairs well with your favorite whiskey or single malt.
The private blend of Paul Simmons, a long-time Squire regular who died many years ago. Developed in the early 1970s, P.S. Blend is an exquisite hybrid blend, featuring elements of soft aromatic tobaccos blended with the finest Latakia flakes. This tobacco is semi-sweet, spirited, and rich in flavor.
Meet Parson’s Blend… developed for the parson himself! One of our dear customers, who happens to be an Anglican priest, asked for a blend that his wife would let him smoke indoors and that also would not lead to tongue bite. Parson’s Blend is our effort to deliver these characteristics in a mild, aromatic blend that leaves your mouth feeling soft and smooth and fills the room with a delicious, warm note.
Customers often say that Parson’s Blend’s smoke is “thick”; our experience is that it leaves you in the midst of a very pleasant cloud. Delicate and crowd-pleasing!
This old-fashioned dessert comes alive in this vibrant aromatic treat! Peaches and berries are mixed with sweet cream in this Virginia-Cavendish delight.
One of our “Middle Earth” Series tobaccos, dedicated to the works of Tolkien. Rivendell is woodsy and earthy, with the slightest hint of cocoa. Mildly sweet with a hint of walnut. Rivendell’s room note turns heads with each puff.
The warm, sweet, delightful aroma of Saratoga brings smokers back to it again and again. Kind to the mouth, this mild Virginia Cavendish blend is a true favorite.
A choice pairing with your mid-morning meal. Second Breakfast has soft hints of everything you would expect from your second meal of the day: notes of buttery cake and maple syrup, with a savory vanilla finish.
Toasted Cavendish mix with a variety of Virginias with cased and natural sweetness to combine for a rich but complex smoking experience. Flavorful with a pleasant room note, while still kind to the mouth.
A sweet treat! This raspberry cream tobacco will knock your socks off! Seersucker, a burley and Cavendish mixture, sweet and tart, is combined with an outstanding room note that will even have your friends craving a bowl!
A great warm-weather tobacco. Strong notes of peach and honey. Very sweet, syrupy, and aromatic.
Not a straight Burley! This is our take on the standard, but with a sweet twist. No bite. Great by itself or as a blending tobacco.
The Squire’s original chocolate blend is reborn! This silky cocoa treat packs in the flavor, while offering a cool smoke that burns to a fine white ash.
Our 2019 International Pipe Smoking Day blend was a hit, and now is part of our regular line-up! If you haven’t tried it, meet “Thin Mint”! This tribute to our favorite cookie will knock your socks off! This highly aromatic treat is a dead ringer for the famous addictive cookie!
Mild Virginias and Cavendish with a heavy spiced rum casing. Syrupy and aromatic, yet kind to the mouth!
A balanced blend of Virginias and Cavendish, this smooth, sweet blend is ideal for those who prefer a gentle and fruity smoke. The black cherry is very apparent, but not overwhelming. Very soft.
Try a little bit of WHATEVER! $1.95 per ounce! As we blend tobacco throughout the day, we regularly have leftovers at the bottom of the bowl. What do we do with the scraps? They go in the Whatever jar! A little of this, a little of that. You just never know what you’re going to get. And the best part? It’s CHEAP! Try it out: no two bowls will ever be alike!
The Wars of the Roses were 15th Century conflicts fought between the Yorks and the Lancasters for control of the throne of England. Though extinguished with the death of Richard III in 1485, the Yorkist tradition is proud and lives on both in its direct descendants and in the hearts and minds of English romantics. With White Rose, we honor the House of York.
This soft Burley and Cavendish mixture will be one of the most unique aromatics in your cellar. The pronounced honey topping at times resembles tea, or even rum. The sophisticated pipe smoker will immediate appreciate the essence of Lakeland tobacco characteristics, as rosewater is apparent on the exhale. A sweet, perfumed delight!
White Rose was proudly developed in 2017 to celebrate the 200th Episode of Country Squire Radio and was presented to and named for Beau York, our dear friend. All profits from the sale of White Rose go directly to making Country Squire Radio happen each week. As of June 2017, Country Squire Radio is the #1 rated pipe-smoking podcast in the world. The show is now at the core of an international pipe club which gives smokers across the globe a chance to celebrate the hobby together weekly.
