FilterAmphora Burley Blend is, as the name indicates, a burley dominated pipe tobacco, in which a touch of Virginia tobacco has been added for the perfect balance of the blend. Amphora Burley Blend is a harmonious blend based on more than 150 years of experience of tobacco blending.
Amphora’s English blend utilizes a mixture of Latakia, Oriental, and Virginia tobaccos for an spicy, earthy, and well-balanced smoke.
Centuries of tobacco craftmanship go into Amphora Full. In addition to the Virginia tobaccos an exact amount of burley and Oriental tobaccos from three continents balance the blend. And the result is a well rounded and slow burning blend.
Amphora’s Kentucky Blend is a harmonious blend based on more than 150 years of experience of tobacco blending. A large proportion of dark-fired Kentucky is blended with high grade Virginia tobaccos to achieve the solid and smoky taste of the Kentucky tobaccos.
A well-rounded blend, emphasizing the chocolate flavor of burley tobacco. Centuries of tobacco craftsmanship go into Amphora Original blend to bring out the rich chocolate undertones of the finest burley tobaccos, balanced with Orientals, Kentucky, and Virginia leaf. A little History:
From here: “Smoking pipes and tobacco have been a significant and visible part of the Choctaw traditional lifeway for a very long time, but they have not received much-written attention. The Choctaw name for tobacco is “hakchuma” (Byington 1915:131). According to a Choctaw cultural authority with whom we consulted on this article, tobacco plants were traditionally planted and tended by Choctaw medicine people, both male and female. After the plants matured, their leaves were removed and stored as dried rolls, tied up with bark strips. In the 1700s, some Choctaw communities grew enough tobacco both to supply themselves and to export it to Euro-American traders (Romans 1775:84-85)
These early Choctaw tobacco horticulturalists made a lasting contribution to the American tobacco industry. One of the traditional tobacco varieties that they developed, today known as “Perique,” may be the most expensive grade of tobacco in the world. For our ancestors, and for some Choctaws today, tobacco-smoking, “hakchuma shuka,” is approached in a spiritual way. The rising puffs of smoke are seen to carry one’s words or prayers upwards to the Creator.  Several of our own employees have Choctaw heritage.”
A blend we are closing out stock on for the time being. A blend of bright Virginia, Burley, Dark Fired Kentucky, and a small amount of unflavored black Cavendish.

English style tobacco featuring Black Cavendish, Latakia, Orientals, Virginia
A blend of Burley, Virginia, and Black Cavendish is pressed, ribbon cut, and topped with rich notes of coffee.
Bailey’s Front Porch is a delightfully mild English blend featuring Burleys, Bright Virginias, Latakia, as well as an ideal touch of Perique thrown in for a dash of spice. It’s an amiable C&D accompaniment for sitting on the porch on those late summer evenings.
Not for the faint of heart, this Virginia/Perique blend is composed of red and bright Virginias and 25% Perique. Bayou Morning is a Perique lover’s delight and one of Cornell and Diehl’s most popular blends.
Perhaps the most well-known street in the French Quarter, the oldest district in New Orleans, this Cellar Series blend takes its name from the colorful Bourbon street, whose distinct blue shutters have lined the rue for years. In this equally memorable blend, bright and red Virginias are mixed with just the right amount of dark-fired Kentucky and long-cut Perique, then married together with bourbon before being pressed to form an old-fashioned crumble cake.
A Traditional Cavendish base made even more flavorful with the addition of our own exclusive formulation of natural chocolate and cocoa bean.
An Americanized English, it has the traditional Latakia and Turkish (though in lighter amounts) in a Virginia flake base but layered in are cubed burley and a discreet amount of toasted black cavendish for a round and slightly sweet finish.
