Lamb with Jam

(6 customer reviews)
Now debuting the first blend to hit our shelves from our very own tobacconist and cigar wiz, Dominque Johnson. A medium to full-bodied mixture that’s composed of Dark Burley, Dark Fired Kentucky, and Flue-cured Virginia that have been aged alongside bags of the Squire’s secret recipe of Mint Tea. This process allows the mint tea to impart flavors without coming in direct contact with the tobacco itself and it won’t ghost your pipe.
Bag Note:  Earthy, Sweet yet Tangy. Slight Mint.
Room Note:  Charred Oak
Tasting Notes:  Black Pepper Spice, Rye, Savory/Meaty (Slight Cool Mint in initial smoke)
This Limited Edition is hand-weighed by the ounce, stored in our quality 4-mil pouches to ensure freshness, and adorned with our famous Country Squire Label.

The idea for this blend was concocted behind the tobacco bar at The Squire, when Dominque Johnson was having a conversation with our resident Greek Orthodox Minister: Father Andy. Discussing the rich history and culture that was brought to Jackson, Mississippi by the Greek community that immigrated here in the early and mid-20th century sparked the concept for this blend. Mr. Johnson had a moment of inspiration and combined Burley tobacco in a mason jar, allowing it to marry with his favorite mint tea. After several recipe revisions, and a little luck, Lamb with Jam was born.  A blend that harmonizes the savory notes of Dark-fired tobacco with a subtle touch of mint.

Absolutely amazing. Probably one of the most unique and enjoyable smokes I’ve ever had and I totally get the name. It smells initially like mint tea and you taste that tea note throughout but to me in the center of it is this very savory body that I can’t really describe that really does in my view turn the smoke into a meal. It’s my new favorite blend and I can’t wait to see what this guy does next. I’m now a huge fan

First of all this has a great tobacco flavor, which is easy to miss in reviews; it’s just great, quality tobacco. It’s drier than most CS blends, but not too dry. It’s also a bit stronger with more nic, though not overwhelming at all. It burns a little hotter than other CS blends too, but not too hot: plan which pipe you’ll use accordingly.
The smoke is nice and thick, with a great texture and pleasant minty coating of the mouth that one feels more so than tastes. There’s a bit of tea flavor that shows up at the bottom of the bowl. I really look forward to smoking it on a warm evening on the porch this spring!

This tastes so great. My favorite non-aromatic now (used to be Merriweather)! Tastes similar to King’s Highway, just without the mint. I bought it because I love mint and thought a minty, smokey meat tobacco would taste awesomely, I was right. It’s definitely a savory smoke. Subtly minty on the initial smoke and the ribbons are on the dryer side.

This has become one of my favorite Country Squire blends.
Savory, slightly sweet with a nice, creamy smoke. Glorious on the retro hale.
Due to this being infused rather than topped the tobaccos come through front and center undiminished by the mint which acts as a subtle undertone. This blend is complex and yet perfectly balanced.
I notice the mint most in the aftertaste which makes for a very refreshing finish.
I’m laying a good supply before it’s gone but I would really like to see this become a permanent addition in the CS line up.

I’m definitely a huge fan of several Squire aromatic blends. And smoke them exclusively with a nice rotation of blends. And when this debuted I was a little skeptical. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. And over time curiosity got the best of me and picked up 2 ounces. Today I purchased a pound. I can’t get enough of this one. It’s an extremely good blend and well worth it. I love how the mint tea pops up through out the duration like saying hey just letting you know I’m here. Whatever you do. Don’t snooze on this. Well worth the purchase!

Such a unique style/blend. . . It does indeed tell the senses “lamb with subtle, soft mint jelly. It is an enjoyable sip for sure.
