Named for its cut rather than its character. Ready-rubbed tobacco starts life as pressed flake that’s tumbled and rubbed by hand into a looser, ribbon-like consistency — so it’s ready to load straight from the tin, no rubbing out required at the bowl.

This tin is from Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s Dunhill-branded run of Ready Rubbed — a leaner, Virginia-forward take, not the older Cavendish-based aromatic Dunhill originally sold under the name decades earlier. Virginia does the heavy lifting here, with a light fruit-and-citrus topping over natural bread and grass notes, a whisper of Oriental in the background, and just enough sweetness to round it out. It’s built as a slow, steady, all-day smoke.
