Samuel Gawith Cabbie’s Mixture

A wonderfully rustic Virginia/Perique from Samuel Gawith, Cabbie’s Mixture consists of sweet Virginias and spicy Perique, hand rolled into a twist and hand sliced into small coins. The Virginias bring natural sweetness, hay, citrus, and rich dark-fruit notes, while the Perique adds a gentle peppery spice along with hints of raisin, plum, and date.

These have had years to mature in the tin, allowing the Virginias and Perique to meld and deepen. With age, the blend’s naturally sweet and fruity character can become rounder and richer, while the Perique provides a spicy counterpoint throughout the smoke.

The result is a medium-bodied VaPer with a rich, naturally sweet character, offering notes of dark fruit, hay, citrus, earth, raisin, and gentle spice. The rustic curly-cut presentation makes this one particularly distinctive among Samuel Gawith’s Virginia mixtures.
