Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader 50g. Pipe Tobacco

Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake

A quintessential English mixture from Samuel Gawith, Squadron Leader combines bright and dark Virginias with Turkish Orientals and Latakia to create a balanced, medium-bodied smoke. The Virginias bring a gentle natural sweetness and subtle bread, hay, and dried-fruit notes, while the Orientals contribute a dry, nutty spice. Latakia provides a restrained smoky, earthy character without overwhelming the other components.

These have had several years to mature in the tin, giving the Virginias time to deepen and the individual components to meld together. The result is a smooth, mellow English with a little more roundness and depth than a freshly opened tin, while retaining the delicate balance that makes Squadron Leader so well known.

** Due to inability to date from tin, some tins may vary in production year (2018-2020), although some may have written evidence of dates purchased **
