    Amazing as always! Delicious and complex, the nutty spice on top of the unique sweetness is phenomenal, I haven’t tasted anything else like it. The CS always delivers, hopefully this one sticks around. Cheers to another 53 years, happy piping!

    Came home from work, checked the mail and there was my order of BB1970.

    First impression was it looks and smells similar to Old Toby. Moisture level is good for me, but some will definitely want to dry it out a little. I smoked my first bowl from a St. Nicholas 626 with 1 relight, no bite, and the bowl was barely even warm when I was finished.

    As far as taste, all I can say is “Wow!” It has the smoothest taste and it is one of the best aromatic blends I have ever smoked. For me the caramel came through stronger than the vanilla, but it was blended so perfectly together that you got both flavors on every sip you took.

    The Kentucky adds a wonderful smokiness to the sweetness of the caramel and vanilla and there’s the slightest hint of a fine Bourbon in the background.

    This is a perfectly blended aromatic. It should be available year round. I would smoke this daily in the winter during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I will enjoy every single bowl of this blend and hope to see it again.

    I’ve noticed the Magnolia Piper on three blends now. I called Bowser’s Castle the “perfect english”, then you have that crazy concoction of Cherry Limeade that leaves you wondering what the hell am I smoking, but yet you’re loving every puff, now this absolutely superb Vanilla-Caramel Bourbon blend. All I can say is will the apprentice overtake the Master?

    Anyway, perfect aromatic. If you still have the chance to order by the time you read this review, please do yourself a favor and order it, you will not be disappointed!

    Wonderful blend. The flavor is sweet but not overpowering. Very pleasant room note. A gentle smoke. I really hope this stays around. I would definitely order more. It could easily become a regular smoke.

    Volunes of white smoke right out of the bag. Definite sweetness, though not super intense or overpowering. “Creaminess” best describes a layer of complexity of the flavor, plus a tiny tang that’s probably the Kentucky. Perfect if you’re looking for an aromatic with some complexity. Hoping they re-release this!

    Smells great even before you open the bag. Once you get your nose into it, it reminds me of a very mild cinnamon bread. With a smidge of the spice coming through. To smoke it, it’s very smooth and mild with a taste of caramel and almost what I would call a Christmas cookie note in the flavor. At the end it levels out to a nutty aftertaste with the slightest hint of black licorice. I don’t normally like black licorice, but it’s so slight that it finishes it perfectly. The colors of the tobacco remind me of the subdued colors of fall. Reds, browns, and tans. I don’t normally notice that, but did this time.
    Overall, the Magnolia Piper delivers a timeless blend, that will leave you with the memory of a smooth, tasty smoke.

    Although I am currently, if anything, “overstocked“ on tobacco, the description of this blend was too enticing to resist so I ordered some. I’m glad I did. This is a truly fine aromatic blend. I note that the reviews on the website are from 2023 in 2024. I wonder if the blend changes from year to year, or perhaps it is the sourcing of the tobacco, because some of the descriptions were not precisely what I was tasting. For example, I read a comparison to “old Toby” which I believe is now Tom Bigbee. BB1970 in its current incarnation is a bit stronger and spicier to my taste, but not in a bad way. The pouch and room notes are great. I would describe the strength and taste as medium. The melange itself is as described, but I detected something standing out as a “solo.“ Perhaps it was the dark fired Kentucky. The bit of spice was quite pleasant and did not interfere at all with the balance of the mixture. I lit it up straight from the pouch, as I did not consider the need to dry it at all. It stayed lit with only one relight to the bottom of the bowl. Beautiful white smoke, and an even burn. It’s too bad. This blend comes out only once a year, but I guess TCS knows what they’re doing

    The best ever! Not only the best aromatic I’ve ever had (I didn’t think Black and Tan could be beat), but one of the best blends I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. So smooth, perfect moisture, no bite, almost no relighting, creamy chocolate and vanilla flavors, (with a hint of oak?), great room note. PLEASE bring this back!

    I have yet to find a blend from The Country Squire that’s anything short of great, and Birthday Bash is no exception. The tin note is amazing and only outdone by the incredible flavor when you take a puff. The icing on the cake is the wonderful room note—pleasant, warm, and inviting. What a wonderful gift to the pipe-smoking community this blend is. This one deserves to be a regular blend, and I hope the CS decides to keep it in their regular rotation!

    Very nice bag and room notes, sweet but not overly or cheaply sweet like some blends can be. Peaceful easy draws will get you the subtle hints of flavor that will dance in your nostrils. Perfect for relaxation or contemplation. I have not had a bad Country Squire blend yet… they really put care and attention into their craft. Hoping one day to get there in person for the full experience.
