This tobacco is second to none. If I could only smoke one tobacco from this point forward it would be Cherokee. I started smoking it over forty years ago when I was asked by my father to stop by the old downtown shop to pick up a pound for him. I didn’t think he would miss a couple of bowls, so I helped myself. I loved it from the first bowl full. Off and on through the years he would share it with me and I would buy a few ounces here and there. I continue to buy it today. It is amazing that after 40 years I keep coming back to this satisfying blend. If you haven’t tried it, you should. It never bites, it is very satisfying and the room note is fabulous.

Wow. I have never been a Virginia heavy blend kind of guy, but Cherokee blew me away. This is a surprisingly complex smoke. The Virginias offer a lot of tart and tangy citrus, grass, a hint of dark fruit, with a touch of earth. There is just a hint of nougat sweetness, but not nearly as nougaty as Old Toby. There is also some black cavendish adds some toasty sweetness in the back of this train.
The creamy nougat compliments nicely., There is a touch of honey or something, but it’s hidden by the nougat.
The strength is between of mild to medium. Very nice room note. Overall, amazingly smooth and cool. It does not top Old Toby in my book, but it’s a solid second.

This tobacco is dang near perfect! I get a distinct coconut bag note and taste. Like a coconut cookie. First two thirds of the bowl has that sweet cookie taste, then the Virginia really shines toward the bottom of the bowl. I keep this one in rotation with Choctaw and Cherokee.

Bought this based on these reviews and am well pleased with the purchase. it’s a very nice change from the Cowboy and Faulkner that I’m usually smoking. Had forgotten I had it until this morning loading up my pocket jars for work and was I ever glad I found it after a couple of months in the mason jar it is even smoother than I remembered.
