    I tried this blend when it was last available and I loved it. Problem was, I had only bought an ounce. When I saw that it washh back I made sure to get more. This is a great blend.

    On my second bowl and the description is spot on. It’s a sublime black cherry bag note. On the light it starts a bit mild for me but as you get into it you really get those woody campfire notes. Half way in I start to pick up on the dark fired more all the while the cherry is right underneath. Just enough perique to add a slight spicy note. Really great smoke!

    This is spot on, at first light you smell and taste the cherry as you continue smoking it the smokiness comes out with a faint taste of the cherry. Was hesitant to order cause of the cherry but try it you will enjoy the blend. I think these guys hit the mark. No goopy at the end an all around great smoke IMHO

    I grew up drinking water from a water hose, playing outside and being called into the house for Supper. Certain days when my Mom would take me to the laundromat to wash clothes, she would let me get a candy from the vending machine. For the life of me I can’t remember the name of the candy, but this By The Fire, it took me right back to my childhood.
    The scent of Cherry, with a hint of tangy Oak, took me back to a time in my life when things weren’t so complicated.
    I sat and smoked this blend with a wonderful fervor of memories and relaxation. Had I been around company, conversation would have been lacking. My head was full of an era long gone, and this tobacco was my portal into the past. Wow! If you have a chance, get some, and try it when you have time enough to savor the great flavors in this blend. This is a great addition to the CS line up.

    This is the first cherry tobacco I’ve tried, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I don’t think I’ll be wasting any money trying to find a better one. The moisture is similar to other Country Squire blends, but it doesn’t taste goopy or overly flavored.
    It smoked smooth, with no tongue bite.
    Read some reviews from more experienced smokers for more detailed tasting notes, but you won’t go wrong with this blend.

    I thought this was really good. At first I got a “medicinal cherry” hit and was like, “Oh please god no!”, but it quickly mellowed out. The tang lasted quite a ways through the bowl and kept me interested. There’s a wonderful smokey flavor and richness here. The burley gives it a nice mouthfeel. It *might* benefit from really short term aging, which I will try. I’ll probably give it a solid 5 then. This ones definitely on my radar for a future additional purchase. Has something in common with Old Fasioned, but this stands out as more interesting. Nice job!

    This blend is perfect and plays well with the cool stillness of winter. The crisp cherry notes are forward in both the flavor and room note, with a hint of smokiness from the dark fired Kentucky tobacco. A gentle touch of spice comes through from the perique on the tail end. All and all a smooth comforting blend that is perfect for those winter months spent fireside with the buds after a successful hunting trip with a couple deer steaks on the fire.

    What drew me to this blend was the description of “malt.” While, I will say that I don’t necessarily taste the malt, the Cherry is delicious! I do really like how this become smoky and develops more flavor the further in you go. So far, this has been one of my favorite Cherry tobacco experiences.

    Just don’t understand how every single Country Squire tobacco I’ve smoked is utterly the best! My main is the “original” Cowboy Coffee, I have enough for the alien apocalypse. Now By The Fire is amazing. It still has that dark fired Kentucky and virginia but it also has that vintage, classic old school cherry taste and room note. This is NOTHING like a cheap cherry aromatic, it is very 1970s to me. Squire tobaccos are pretty much all I smoke anymore besides an occasional Gawith Hoggarth flake here and there. I have a cellar full of tobacco, too much to be honest. I don’t stock up on any other tobacco than Country Squire blends. Jon David Cole and his associates are amazing in their craft.

    I can’t put my nose on it, but it has a room smell (unsmoked) that is pretty sweet and persistent. So, if you’re sensitive to smells, maybe try a small amount first and go from there.

    That said, I finally had a chance to try this last night by my fire, and it was really a pleasant smoke and I would recommend it to anyone interested in aromatics or wanting to try something new.
