The Legend of the Yazoo Witch hails from the depths of Mississippi folklore, recounting the eerie tale of a vengeful spirit that haunts the Yazoo River and its surrounding swamplands. According to the legend, the Yazoo Witch was a woman accused of practicing dark arts and witchcraft in the early 19th century. The locals, fearing her supernatural powers, sentenced her to death by fire. In her dying moments, she placed a curse on the land, promising to return and seek revenge. Many believe that her ghostly apparition still lurks in the misty shadows, exacting vengeance on those who dare to venture too close to the Yazoo River.

This is a great blend for those fall, cool days/evenings. Mild smoking, but also very complex prominent flavors that are very enjoyable. The smokiness of dark fired tobacco is there, the Latakia is also very present, with an oriental taste that is not overwhelming, but balanced well enough to not need to search for it. Below is a brief review video. I hope this is a blend they revisit in the future.

I’m new to the pipe community. 5 weeks as of this review. I was told to try Ruins and that was my introduction to The Country Squire. I purchased Northwest Trek, Goerges Dragon, and Hunting Creek by suggestion of the crew at the Squire. Then Yazoo came in and blew me away! This blend is amazing. Spicy, sweet on the pallette, and has a wonderful bag note. You definitely aren’t in Kansas whe you lite a bowl of the Witch. Well done Magnolia! Well done. Planning a 6 hour trip soon to visit and meet the geniuses behind the counter. Thanks for making my pipe journey a memorable one so far!

This is a second review on this blend. It is in my HO a really great blend for those cooler dats and evenings. So much so that I rushed to place another order for a back up, while placing another order with Country Squire for a friend. Alas, it was already gone. Here is in hopes that they do another micro batch of this blend or something that is akin to this one. Below is a new review of the flavors and smoke experience you may expect.

Who doesn’t like a good blend with a fun story behind it!
A full bodied blend that has the Virginia and Kentucky leading the charge with just the right amount of Latakia and Perique as a condiment. In my opinion a perfect blend! While full bodied, it is not over powering and is a perfect smoke on a cool Autumn evening. This years blend has the added flavor of the bourbon barrel.
This was my first purchase from Country Squire and you have earned yourself a new customer!

I have purchased just about every blend offered at Country Squire. All are good. I normally smoke English blends, pure vaper and Virginia’s, but still like the aromatics they have as they are not the normally goopy aromatics, the tobacco shines through. The witch is a great blend. I could smoke this every day if it was available year round. I guess if only offered in fall, I will have something to look forward to as a treat every October!

I just got my order of Yazoo Witch and I put it my freehand pipe. I lit it up and the first puff I said to myself this is really mild for a tobacco that has some of the English type blend in it. It is smooth and has a good aroma. I have tried to taste the honey bbq sauce flavor and have ‘ found it yet. Now that being said the aroma of the tobacco in the bag has a sweet floral smell that must be the Latakia or perigue.not sure as I have never smelled the, by themselves. But is sure is good. I have had to lite it a few times as it is moist/not wet and as I am puffing it I am getting a tad bite…my fault for hard puffing. I think this would be a good tobacco for someone who wants to try an English blends to see what the orientals lend to the smoke.over all it is a good one for walking in the woods or setting ona deck watching the world go by. Oh and the sticker for the tobacco is very cool

Absolutely nailed it with this blend. Lots of complex flavor. The barrel aging comes through. It is extremely flavorful, but not overpowering. This is my first time smoking Yazoo Witch, but you can bet I’ll be looking forward to it coming around again year after year. Great job!

This is the most confusing blend I’ve had yet. I packed in my English pipe thinking this’ll be a good smoking English blend, if this is considered English it’s the sweetest one I’ve ever had. The taste is sweet bourbon, and becomes more woodsy later on, but still very sweet . It smells like a traditional light English. But that taste is not like anything I’ve ever had, I don’t know what type of blend you would consider it, it should be in it’s own category. The only bad thing is this isn’t going to be part of their regular line up. I really like this blend, and I sincerely hope they make more.
